INSTALLER INFORMATION PAGE

Welcome to the Installer Information Page.

Here, you’ll find everything you need to know before applying to work with us.

Who are we, what do we do and where do we cover?

We build flatpack furniture from wardrobes to beds, trampolines to sheds and much more.

We currently have 165 installers across the UK and Ireland.
You can find out more about how we first got started in the About Us section at the top of this page.
This role is ideal for tradespeople or shift workers who are looking for an additional income alongside their existing jobs.

If you have tools and a proven experience of furniture assembly, this could be for you.
If having read all of this, you’d like to go ahead, you can submit your information at the bottom of this page.

How much work do you have in my area?

That varies from week to week.  Some weeks there could one or two bookings and sometimes alot more.
This isn’t a job to be relied on as a sole source of income but, as a side line or additional income.

How do we get the work?

Using our app.  When we receive a new booking, we will offer this to all installers in your area on a first come first serve basis.    Be quick!

When we confirm you have been given the booking, we will give you an approximate date that we expect the delivery to arrive.  You may not hear from us for a few days until we confirm the item has been delivered.

We will then ask you for your availability to attend.

I’m a two person team.  Is that ok?

Yes.  Many of our installers work in pairs.  As long as you have the appropriate insurance, we can send you double crewed to bookings.

On your way to the booking.

When you’re heading to your booking, click the EN ROUTE button on the job within the app.

This will let the customer know you’re on way.

Running late? Please call the customer in the first instance and not the office You can even do this through the app!

This is due to the high workload we have in the office and it takes the same amount of time for you to make the call to the customer instead of calling us to relay it to them.

At the booking.

  1. You are our eyes and ears on the ground and we need information from you.
  2. Ensure branding on uniform is visible for when the customer opens the door.
  3. When you arrive at the booking, please mark the booking as START JOB on the app.  This is so that we know you’ve arrived.
  4. Introduce yourself to the customer ‘from Kent Flat Pack’
  5. Never place tools or parts on the bed, tables or other furniture unless the customer says you can.
  6. YOU MUST spend the first few minutes of the booking checking that all parts are present and correct. This is so that you can contact us and discuss whether or not to continue with the build or leave and await arrival of new parts.
  7.

At the booking.

7. Inspect every component first.  If two hours into the build, an item is found to be broken, it is much more difficult to put the onus on the courier or supplier.  If you identify missing parts in the first hour, we will still pay the £35 attendance fee and then, when the parts are delivered, the full, previously agreed amount for the build.

8. Build the item as per the instruction manual

9. Call us with any issues or questions as soon as they arise. It is always better to ask us than to hope it’s been done right.

10. The fee you’re paid includes time taken to complete the checklist on our app and take photos.  PLEASE take plenty of photos from different angles of the finished item. These need to be clear photos. Far away and close up. The booking is not complete without photos as they are evidence of the standard of your work. They also form our defence should further down the line, a customer complains of damage.

11. These photos can be uploaded in the NOTES AND COMMENTS field on the app.

Training

We build many different types of products across the UK.

We provide training modules for installers to complete in advance of their booking to give you an idea of what you’re building before you get there.

This has been very well received by many installers who work with us.

  1. How are we paid?

When you send us an invoice, we need to allow time for the customer to pay us and/or identify any issues.   As long as you have built the item correctly and do a compulsory walk-around of the item to ensure this happens.

We will pay your invoice fifteen days after we receive it.  You must ensure you build the item correctly to ensure the customer is happy to pay us.

For example: If you do a booking on the 3rd of the month, the proposed payment date will be the 18th.  As long as there are no issues, your payment will be made on the 18th.

This gives you the opportunity to return and rectify any issues.

This must be a clear invoice detailing all jobs you have completed.
  2.

Uniform?

After completing three bookings successfully for us, you will be sent one of our yellow T-shirts.  This must be worn for every booking and kept clean and presentable.
